Get The Word Out!! Advertise Your Network Marketing Business

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

Network Marketing is a people based business. To be successful your job is to tell as many people about the great product or service you represent and about the great opportunity your distributor provides. To effectively get this message out you must advertise. You have a lot of different choices of where and how to accomplish this. We will look at some of the different ways to get the word out and grow your downline.

Let’s start with the hardest one to take advantage of: Purchasing Leads. This method is tricky because you have to be so very careful of where you buy your leads. If you don’t do some homework you will find yourself buying old contacts or those of people who are have no interest in network marketing. Do some research, be sure that the company you choose to buy leads from is reliable and is genuinely focused on network marketing. You want people who have already expressed an interest in further information on network marketing opportunities. They should also be able to assure you their leads are fresh. Fresh means people who have not already been contacted by more than 2 people or people who have requested further information but have not been contacted in so long they have forgotten they ever asked.

Trade shows can be a great place to generate interest in your products as well as get good leads…if you go about it the right way. To peak interest you should have an attractive, eye-catching display area for your products. Make sure you have plenty of fliers, brochures and such lying about with information about the products you offer as well as the business opportunity you represent. Another easy way to gather leads is to have a drawing or some other promotional offer. Each person who drops their name and contact information in a box requesting you contact them with further information is entered into a drawing for a prize….maybe a gift basked of some your companies most popular products.

A brochure or flier campaign can be a very effective tool. You should always have a few of these with where ever you go. This will allow you to put a succinct package of information on your products and opportunities into interested party’s hands at any given time. Now they have your name and contact number and can easily contact you. One key thing to keep in mind if you ever decided to do a mass mailing of fliers is this…..Never mail what you can physically place in someone’s hand. They will take you and the opportunity you represent much more seriously face to face. This simple rule will increase the return on a mass mailing and decrease your costs in the bargain.

Obviously there are other ways to advertise your network marketing business. Generating interest in your products and constantly attracting new people will help you grow a successful downline and as your downline grows and prospers so do you.

Organizing Your Work At Home Business

Monday, September 24th, 2007

Entrepreneurs the world over are hard at work starting businesses they can operate from their home. These work-from-home endeavors will be anything from network marketing or multi-level marketing and direct sales or even online retail. The opportunities are endless. The business start-up from the home is highly desirable for many reasons.

Many of these work at home undertakings don’t survive, and the way you can avoid becoming a failure statistic is to make sure you are organized. When you work at home, there are not only a lot of distractions that can make it hard to settle down to work, but your paperwork and record keeping can go by the boards, and you will become a disorganized mess.

There are software options to keep track of your finances and customer base. There are also online databases where you can store customer information and details of transactions. It is simple to find these with a search on some of the Internet’s major search engines. Sometimes a multi-level marketing company you work for will have ways of keeping track of your sales.

Having these options for the work from home entrepreneur are not always enough. You can have all the databases in the world, but if you don’t enter the information into them in the first place, they won’t do you a bit of good.

One of the best things you can do to get started on organizing your work at home enterprise is to list out the records you need to have on file. What is it you need to keep track of? Customer names and addresses? Email addresses? Dates of purchases? List down every detail you need. If you have these sharp in your mind, you will be able to find the software or online option best for you.

Ensure your record keeping for a work-from-home operation is linear. By this is meant, you have the sequence of events in logging transactions either firm in your mind, or better yet, on paper. It may look like this:

• Log customer’s name and address in Database 1.
• Enter transaction total into Database 2.
• Acknowledge customer order with personal email.
• Enter email address into log so can do follow-up promotion.

This is just a rough example. All the actions you take after a sale is made should be delineated so you just can automatically follow them each time for each transaction. Then you won’t forget to keep track of important data.

It isn’t all a matter of pure production activity. The administration of your records in a work from home environment is just as important and will improve an entrepreneur’s success.

Five Steps to Business Success

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

Business is a continuous process of learning. An entrepreneur has to accept that only thing permanent in business is change. The ups and downs of business can make even the boldest men cringe. The pressures of handling various activities, over and above meeting customer requirements can be quite challenging. Here are some tips on handling pressures. The solution is not so simple but these tips have been formulated for enduring business success.

Courage of conviction: When we begin any venture we usually conduct sufficient research and collect data on existing businesses in the same field as your prospective business. The beginning is always tough and getting through the initial phase is by itself a cause for celebration. Some where along the line, we are faced with insurmountable challenges. This is the time when we have to draw from the reserves of our conviction and march ahead. But in practice many entrepreneurs just give up and shut down shop. Maybe after another few days and a couple of tough occasions, the business would have taken off. The courage of conviction that you are going to succeed is the most important factor under the circumstances.

Clear goals and aspirations: Why do you want to start a business of your own? Do you have whatever it takes to be an entrepreneur? Or is it just a fantasy which has come to your mind? I have seen people wanting to start their own venture because their cousin has one. That doesn’t seem like a convincing reason to undertake a task which is likely to put your life at stake. One should be clear about the reasons for starting a business venture. The goals and aspirations are to be clearly spelled out, right at the beginning. Make no mistake. If your cousin has been successful does not mean you also will be.

Foresight: What is foresight? This is another question that is faced quite often. Foresight is not crystal gazing like many would be lead to believe. It is a conscious, intelligent and practical appreciation of the future. Being ready for the future is half the battle won. If we can intrinsically grasp the nuances of the business, we would not be shocked and surprised at the developments. We would be prepared and be ready with alternative arrangements.

Making a business plan: This is an area in which new businesses and those which are moving into new areas might require coaching. It is rather surprising at the opportunities and ideas which can evolve from a creative, out of the box thinking. All these have to be internalized. The business plan should encompass the vision and passion of the creator. This passion would automatically be transferred to all those who come across the business plan, may it be investors, shareholders or suppliers.

There are two types of business plans which are recommended. One for internal purposes and another one with a detailed plan with the financial projections. These two documents should serve as blue prints for the future venture.

Having an alternate plan: There is a view that if you start thinking of an alternate arrangement even before commencing a new venture, you are a pessimist. First of all, we are better prepared for the future and secondly once we have an alternate plan ready, we are likely to move ahead confidently. Businesses fail because they are not ready for the shocks and problems which a business is likely to face. It is always better to be prepared.

Finding A Mentor To Coach You In Business

Monday, September 17th, 2007

If you are just starting your own business, a mentor can almost be a necessity. There’s a lot to learn and a lot to coordinate. Someone who has “been there and done that” can help you master the tricks of the trade. Their business coaching can fill in a lot of important information in operating your enterprise, even if you work at home. If you do direct sales, you would want someone who has direct sales experience, for example.

Your mentor will have to be someone with whom you can work and have a good relationship. They won’t be working with you forever, but the communication will have to be good and you will have to be able to agree with their principles.

If you have already developed a business and just need help in certain areas, you will already know what you are looking for and can approach it more knowledgeably. You will know exactly what areas need improvement and the coach you pick should have these areas as an expertise.

First, make a list of the things you need assistance with and what you will require of a mentor. Will it be business coaching from the bottom up? Or do you just need some advice and information on how to set up an affiliate program or start in network marketing? List out what you know you will need to start with. The list could lengthen as you go, but then again, it may not.

Research the mentors or business coaches offering services online. You may also know people through your own connections, such as friends, people you met through professional organizations or even previous teachers. Someone who has been a role model for you in the past could make a good coach. List all the possibilities out and note beside their name pluses and minuses of using them. You can get a lot of information right off the Internet.

Pick the top ten listed who have the most “pluses” and get in contact with each one. Tell them you are interested in meeting with them to get their input on your new (or old) business. Set an appointment to meet with them. If you take them to lunch, pick up the tab. If the mentor is someone with a program online, you could make the “meeting” over the phone.

In the meeting (or phone call) with each potential coach, ask him or her for their feedback on what you are doing and tell them what you are looking for in business coaching. Take notes on what they tell you. You can either leave it at that and go home to study the responses you got, or if you really think one particular person would be the one right for you, you can ask him or her if you both could have an ongoing relationship for mentoring for your business endeavors, no matter what kind – network marketing, direct sales, work at home entrepreneur opportunities.

If you both decide to go forward with a more permanent coaching relationship, you should put agreements in writing. This protects both of you.

Are You Cut Out For Direct Sales?

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

If you are working in the field of multi-level marketing (or network marketing) and selling your product or service directly to your customers, including recruiting for your company, there are going to be many blocks that could stop your progress and ultimate success. Direct sales consists of real work to make it succeed and you have to be a certain kind of entrepreneur to make your dreams come true.

In direct sales, you have to contact customers, sell them on your service or product, close the sale and follow up. In order to contact someone in the first place, you have to have a list of prospects. Perhaps your multi-level marketing company provides you with lists of names, but more often they don’t. You have to find your own. And this can mean cold calling.

Calling on prospects in direct sales can be very intimidating. There are so many rejections right off the bat that you might just throw in the towel after the first hundred calls. However, in any game such as this, you must realize that it is a numbers game. You will always get a certain percent of sales for each 100 calls you make.

Maybe you think that being an entrepreneur and that the work from home business isn’t all it claims. That’s true if you think that it’s simply all automatic and the money is just going to roll in. It’s a lot of hard work. Being an entrepreneur signifies someone who can start and operate a venture for profit. Profit doesn’t come from doing nothing.

You will need to have the concept that the harder you work, the more profit you will make. And the more contacts you make, the more sales you will eventually make. You also have to maintain the initial enthusiasm you had when you started, no matter how many calls you make where someone bad-mouths you or hangs up on you. It’s all part of the territory.

Sure, you have the overall goals in mind of what you want to achieve with your direct sales business. But how about setting a goal for the day? Set a goal to make ONE sale. Then work like a fiend to make that one goal a reality. Do the same the next day. You are giving yourself successes, and you can remember these when the going gets rough.

Have a nice space to work, with all the tools of your trade laid out before you. If you need to refer to something when you make a call, ensure it is handy. Then you won’t get tongue-tied and blow a sale. Get your patter down so you know exactly what to say and when. It will go much smoother that way.

Confront and sort out all problems you run into. There will be some, so get used to the idea. Don’t let them halt your production of calls, but list them out and make a time to deal with them.

Deal with things a step at a time in direct sales, but don’t let anything drag you off your overall purpose. If you are a determined entrepreneur, you can make anything happen if you put your mind to it.
